FILMS
Carlos Jiménez Flores has written, directed and/or produced 15 feature films. His films have won a total of 7 festival awards; with SCALENE winning 5 of those including Best Film in 3, PENDEJO won Best American Comedy and MOTEL 666 won Best Reality Parody. SCALENE was also named the New York Times Critics Pick of the Week when it was released January 2012. A total of 5 films have been theatrically released; SCALENE, MI PRINCESA, MOTEL 666, DECEIVED and RÉMORA. He’s had movies on the shelves of Blockbuster, Hollywood Video, Best Buy, Radio Shack, Walmart, among others. He’s had films on Netflix, RedBox, cable tv, network television and streaming. He has filmed on location in Los Angeles, Chicago, Indiana, New York and Puerto Rico.
Carlos is the Founder, President and CEO of Kachi Films which has produced 10 of his films; SCALENE, MI PRINCESA, MOTEL 666, DEMON IN THE CREEK, THE MANOR, ASHLEY’S OMEN, WHAT WAS I THINKING, DŌW, BLISS ETERNAL, and RÉMORA. His film production company has been a distributor for half of those films. Kachi Films made history as the only distribution company to successfully negotiate the theatrical release of a short film in September 2022, when 3000 (a bio-pic about Roberto Clemente) was screened at Caribbean Cinemas across Puerto Rico.
Carlos has 3 film festivals. He is Founder, President and CEO of the nonprofit BORICUA FILM FESTIVAL which is a traveling festival touring the Puerto Rican diaspora across the United States featuring films from the island. He is also the Founder of the HUMBOLDT PARK FILM FESTIVAL which showcases movies from Puerto Rico in Chicago. Lastly, he is a Co-Founder of the FESTIVAL DE CINE TULUÁ BORIKÉN which showcases Colombian and Puerto Rican films; taking place in Tuluá, Colombia during the first week of November and in Puerto Rico during the first week of May.
Carlos is the Founder, President and CEO of BORICUA BOX, a streaming channel that can be watched on Roku, Apple TV and the Fire Stick from Amazon. There are apps on Android and iPhone. The content on the channel has a Puerto Rican component to it, whether it be the people in front or behind the camera, the location and/or story. As long as there’s a Puerto Rican involved, it meets the criteria. Boricua Box can be seen on any smart tv, desktop computer, laptop, tablet and smartphone.
Carlos is currently in pre-production on several projects.
RÉMORA

Limited theatrical release in Puerto Rico, April 2022. Rémora was the first movie in Puerto Rican history to be theatrically released (Caribbean Cinemas) and stream (Boricua Box) simultaneously.

The film had a limited theatrical release in Puerto Rico, November 2015 (Caribbean Cinemas). It was an Official Selection of eight film festivals, including Horror by the Sea in England and it won Best Reality Parody at Zed Fest in Los Angeles, California.
